Stock Market Update: Domestic stock markets closed down for the second consecutive trading session on Thursday (January 9) amid mixed sentiment from global markets. Market sentiments were affected due to fear among investors regarding possible softening of third quarter results of companies and less frequent cuts in US interest rates.
The 30-share BSE Sensex opened at 78,206 on Thursday (January 9) with a decline of about 140 points. It had fallen to 607 points during trading. Finally, Sensex closed at 77,620.21 with a fall of 528 or 0.68%.
Similarly, NSE Nifty 50 opened at 23,674 and Finally it closed at 23,526.50 with a decline of 162.45 points or 0.69%.
